On September 22 and 23, Southern Hills Career and Technical Center welcomed fourth and sixth grade students from our affiliate school districts for two exciting days of career exploration.
Each day, students had the opportunity to visit with more than 20 vendors representing 10 different career clusters. Industry professionals, businesses, and community organizations shared valuable information about careers, educational pathways, and the skills needed to succeed in today's workforce.
Students also toured SHCTC's 12 career technical labs, where they experienced firsthand the innovative and hands-on learning opportunities available through career and technical education. From healthcare and manufacturing to culinary arts and welding, students were introduced to a variety of career pathways that can lead to successful futures.
A special recognition goes to our SHCTC Ambassador Team and student tour guides, who did an incredible job throughout both days. These student leaders welcomed guests, guided tours through our career technical labs, and presented information about their respective programs with confidence and professionalism. Their enthusiasm, knowledge, and leadership helped create a positive and engaging experience for our visiting students. The ambassadors served as outstanding representatives of SHCTC and played a vital role in the success of Career Exploration Days.
Career Exploration Days are designed to help young students begin thinking about future career opportunities while exposing them to a wide range of industries and professions. By connecting with career professionals and experiencing our career technical programs, students gained valuable insight into the many pathways available after high school.
SHCTC would like to thank our vendors, staff members, affiliate school districts, student ambassadors, and tour guides for helping make these two days a tremendous success. We enjoyed welcoming these future leaders to our campus and look forward to inspiring the next generation of skilled professionals.
If your business, organization, or agency is interested in participating in SHCTC's Career Exploration Days next year, we would love to hear from you. These events provide an excellent opportunity to connect with students and help inspire the next generation of skilled professionals.
